The official images of the new AITO M9 were officially released on April 13. Based on the information published so far, the new car has been adjusted in areas including exterior dimensions, assisted driving hardware, chassis system, and power and range.

In terms of dimensions, the new AITO M9 measures 5285mm in length, 2026mm in width, and 1845mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3125mm. Exterior-wise, the new car adopts a new color scheme, semi-hidden door handles, an integrated full-width light bar, and a new wheel design, among which the door handles use the same starlight design as the Zunjie S800.

In terms of assisted driving, the new AITO M9 is equipped with 6 LiDAR units and achieves 360° environmental perception through the fusion of LiDAR and vision. According to the official introduction, the system can identify smaller low-lying blind spots and improve road condition prediction on unpaved roads. In addition, a side camera has been added at the C-pillar position to further enhance the fusion perception capability.

In terms of chassis, the new AITO M9 is equipped with a fully active suspension. Together with preview recognition technology, the system can actively perceive road conditions and adjust suspension stiffness and damping. This is also the first model under HIMA to be equipped with a fully active suspension.

In terms of power, the new AITO M9 continues to offer both fully electric and range-extended versions, both equipped with CATL batteries. The range-extended version offers two battery packs of 60kWh and 75kWh, while the fully electric version is equipped with a 120kWh battery pack.

Commentary: The new AITO M9 is not an all-new replacement model, but an annual facelift and upgrade based on the current model. The new car does not overturn the current design, with signature elements such as the full-width taillight, overall silhouette, and body proportions carried over to ensure brand recognition. At the same time, the new model continues the main platform architecture and body-in-white main structure of the current model, with adjustments and additions mainly made to exterior details, body dimensions, assisted driving hardware, the fully active suspension system, and power battery range capability. Overall, the new AITO M9 is a further iteration of perception capability, driving comfort, and range performance through hardware upgrades and system optimization within the existing product framework of the current model.
