During the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the new MG4 was officially launched. A total of 6 pure electric models are offered, namely the 437km Free Spirit Edition, 437km Composed Edition, 437km Freedom Edition, 437km Smart Fun Edition, 530km Smart Fun Edition, and 530km Semi-Solid-State Safety Edition.

The new MG4 has body dimensions of 4395mm in length, 1842mm in width, and 1551mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2750mm. The new car also adds a smart driving assistance small blue light to display the assisted driving status, and introduces two new body colors: Ice Crystal Blue and Almond Beige.

The new MG4's center console is equipped with an 8.88-inch LCD instrument screen and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control large screen (the 437km Free Spirit Edition is equipped with a 7-inch LCD instrument screen and a 10.25-inch 720P central control screen), supporting wireless CarPlay functionality.

The new MG4 is equipped with Horizon Robotics' intelligent driving assistance solution based on a game-theory large model, with both highway NOA and intelligent parking functions improved. At the same time, the vehicle's Sentry Mode has also been upgraded.

In terms of power, the new MG4 is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 120 kW and peak torque of 250N·m, paired with lithium iron phosphate batteries with capacities of 42.8 kWh and 53.9 kWh, and also offers a 53.9 kWh semi-solid-state battery version, with the semi-solid-state battery version achieving a pure electric range of 530km. In addition, the new car comes standard across all variants with VMC straight-line tire blowout control.

Commentary: The most noteworthy aspect of the 2026 MG4 is the standard VMC straight-line tire blowout control system across all variants, which can stabilize the vehicle trajectory within 300 milliseconds after a tire blowout, bringing high-speed loss-of-control prevention technology previously available only on 300,000-yuan-class vehicles down to an affordable price point; meanwhile, the semi-solid-state battery version is equipped with a solid electrolyte battery jointly developed by SAIC and QingTao, featuring higher energy density and having passed nail penetration tests, with significantly improved low-temperature charging performance. In addition, CTB battery-body integration technology compresses the battery pack thickness to 110mm, achieving a rear-seat space utilization rate of 93.8%; the Horizon Robotics smart driving solution based on a game-theory large model enables the popularization of highway NOA and intelligent parking functions on pure electric hatchbacks.
