On May 23, the Volkswagen ID.UNYX 07 was officially launched, offering two configurations of this all-electric mid-size car. The ID.UNYX 07 is the first model to adopt Volkswagen's CEA electronic and electrical architecture, equipped with a 59.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 558 kilometers. In terms of power, it features a single motor with a maximum output of 170kW and a top speed of 160km/h.

In terms of exterior design, the ID.UNYX 07 features a closed front fascia, paired with a continuous light bar and an illuminated gold emblem. The rear adopts a liftback structure with continuous three-dimensional streaming taillights. The body dimensions are 4,853mm in length, 1,852mm in width, and 1,566mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,826mm.

In terms of interior, the ID.UNYX 07 is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15-inch 2K floating touchscreen, a 12-inch 2K front passenger entertainment screen, and a 27-inch AR-HUD. The infotainment chip is a MediaTek 8676, with a built-in AI large language model, supporting four-zone voice recognition and fuzzy command processing.

The front seats of the ID.UNYX 07 support 12-way electric adjustment with massage function. All variants come standard with a UWB digital phone key and a 1.6-square-meter panoramic glass roof. The trunk offers 711L of regular capacity, expandable to 1,580L with the rear seats folded down.

In terms of intelligent driving, the ID.UNYX 07 is equipped with highway NOA navigation assist, supporting automatic lane changes, overtaking, and on/off-ramp maneuvers on highways and urban expressways. Meanwhile, the vehicle also comes standard across all variants with cross-floor memory parking, capable of automatically parking into a fixed space from the garage entrance.

Xiao Tang's take: The ID.UNYX 07 is the first to feature Volkswagen's CEA electronic and electrical architecture developed specifically for the Chinese market. This architecture is based on collaborative development between Volkswagen and XPeng, so the infotainment fluidity and intelligence level have indeed improved noticeably compared to previous Volkswagen EVs. Features such as four-screen interaction, highway NOA, and cross-floor memory parking are all included. The chassis adopts a front MacPherson + rear five-link independent suspension and achieves a 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution, retaining a certain German-style handling character. Overall, this car represents a fairly serious integration of intelligence and German engineering fundamentals at its price point.
