On October 12, I was invited to attend the internal test meet-and-greet for the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 in Qingyan, Guiyang. As an era-defining plug-in hybrid family sedan positioned as a "first car for life," does it really live up to the hype? Today I personally took it for a test drive, and from exterior, interior, driving feel to smart features, let me share my honest impressions.

Exterior: An "Eastern divine face" that steals your heart at first glance

The real car is even more stunning than the pictures! The front-end design language of the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 is called "Galaxy Star Waterfall." The grille, made up of 29 "flying waterfalls" and 49 "flying eave rafters," paired with "flying eaves and tiger gaze" headlights, looks very imposing overall, with a dignified and upright presence. The one I test drove was in "Silk Cotton Silver," and the flowing light-and-shadow texture in the sunlight was absolutely incredible, not at all like a car in the 100,000 yuan class.

The "single floating white line" waistline along the side of the body hides eight and reveals two, with just the right amount of negative space, making the whole car look slender without losing a sense of power. At 4806 mm long, it is indeed the longest in its class. Parked by the roadside, it is noticeably a size larger than the A-segment cars next to it, with its presence fully maxed out.

Interior: An "Eastern elegant room" you don't want to get out of once you sit in

Opening the door, my first impression was: this space really gives you B-segment enjoyment at an A-segment price! I am 1.6 meters tall, and sitting in the rear row, my knees still had a very generous distance from the front seatbacks, and crossing my legs was no problem at all. The 83.5% space utilization rate is no exaggeration, and it is completely sufficient for family use.

The interior color scheme is "Clear Lake Reflecting Snow White," fresh yet still premium. The seats are Geely's original "China Chair," and sitting in them gives a strong sense of wrapping, especially with excellent support for the lower back and shoulders. The official term for this posture is "sinking shoulders and dropping elbows," and it is indeed comfortable. The "lotus pond ripple" knob on the center console and the "ripple fret" details on the air vents are also very refined, perfectly capturing the new Chinese aesthetic.

Driving feel: Fuel-efficient and easy to drive, a family car can also be fun to drive

This internal test was divided into two parts: track and road.

The track test mainly focused on acceleration, braking, and slalom.

Starting off is brisk, the electric drive response is very direct, and mid-range acceleration (40-80 km/h) gives an obvious push in the back, not sluggish at all. The steering wheel has three adjustable levels of effort. I set it to "Standard," which is light at low speed and stable at high speed, and making a U-turn in place was also very easy.

The brake pedal feel is linear, and during emergency braking the body posture was very well controlled, with no obvious nose dive.

For the road test, we drove in the city and on the highway.

What surprised me most was the fuel consumption - officially it is 2.8L/100km in depleted-battery mode, and I got 2.3L on the display. Although it was not at full charge, this figure is already very impressive. In pure electric mode, the range is 125 km, so daily city commuting basically does not need gasoline.

The chassis tuning is a highlight. When going over speed bumps and rough roads, the vibration filtering is clean and decisive, with no extra bouncing. Body pitch and roll are well controlled, and it drives as steady as an old dog.

Smart features: Flyme Auto infotainment + Qianli Haohan H3, useful and not gimmicky

The infotainment system is Flyme Auto, with a clean interface and smooth operation. Voice recognition is very accurate, and navigation, music, and air conditioning can all be handled with one sentence.

In terms of driver assistance, the Starshine 6 is equipped with the Qianli Haohan H3 system, supporting urban and highway NOA. I tested its car-following and lane-keeping on the ring road, and acceleration and deceleration were natural, without any abruptness. On long trips, it can greatly reduce fatigue.

Safety is also very solid. The Shendun battery passed tests including nail penetration, drop, and fire exposure. The body is 71.6% high-strength steel with a clover structure, giving a full sense of security.

Summary: A family sedan that does not make young people "settle"

The biggest takeaway after the internal test is: the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 really is a "hexagonal warrior."

Its looks are striking, and driving it out gives you face;

Fuel consumption is low, and the cost of ownership is friendly;

The space is large, and it is comfortable to sit in;

Smart features do not lag behind, and safety is reliable.

If your budget is 80,000-120,000 yuan and you want a family sedan without settling, the Starshine 6 is worth a test drive for yourself. It may not be perfect, but in the "first car for life" arena, it has already achieved enough sincerity and strength.
