The highly anticipated Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T from Great Wall Motors has officially been launched recently, with three configurations available and an official guiding price starting at 226,800 yuan. The new vehicle measures 5440/1991/1945mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3350mm and a cargo box size of 1500×1520×500mm. It is positioned as a plug-in hybrid pickup with hardcore off-road capabilities.

In terms of exterior design, the Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T adopts a rather rugged style. The front face features a polygonal air intake grille with a horizontal bar structure inside. The blackened headlight clusters are connected to the grille and integrate matrix LED light sources. The lower bumper uses thick black trim panels, with a winch and tow hook integrated in the center position. The right A-pillar is equipped with a snorkel, providing a maximum wading depth of 900mm.

The side profile features a standard double-cab pickup shape with a flat roofline and roof rails. The through-type waistline on the side adds visual layering. Both the wheel arches and side skirts use thick black protective panels, and the wheels feature a two-tone multi-spoke design. At the rear, the vertically laid-out blackened taillights have a strong three-dimensional feel. The lower bumper is also made of thick black trim panels, integrating fog lights and reserving space for a tow hook, with the exhaust pipe adopting a hidden design.

The interior continues Great Wall's family design language, equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a full digital instrument cluster, a floating central control screen, and an electronic gear shifter. A grab handle is provided in front of the passenger seat, emphasizing the vehicle's hardcore character.

The Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine and an electric motor, with a combined maximum system power of 300kW and a combined peak torque of 750N·m, paired with a 9AT transmission. Its battery pack has a capacity of 37.1kWh, providing an NEDC pure electric range of up to 115 kilometers and a combined range exceeding 1,000 kilometers, and it supports 50kW fast charging. The equipped mechanical four-wheel-drive system with three differential locks supports multiple drive modes including AWD, 2H, 4H, and 4L, while also offering crawl mode and tank turn functionality.

Overall, the Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T combines the rugged pickup appearance, payload capacity, and off-road equipment with the power performance, pure electric range, and long-distance driving capability brought by the plug-in hybrid system, making it a new option in this segment. As for its actual on-road driving, off-road performance, and energy consumption economy, we can wait for future real-vehicle experience.
