On May 13, the Equation Leopard Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition was launched. The vehicle offers two standard layouts, five-seat and seven-seat, with an optional six-seat version. The entire lineup comes standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 4, and is also equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery, flash charging technology, and the Yunian-P Ultra intelligent hydraulic body control system.

In terms of exterior, the Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition features a closed rectangular front grille combined with rounded-rectangular headlights, rib lines on the front hood, and a silver skid plate below; the rear uses a wrap-around spare tire cover and rectangular taillight cluster. In terms of dimensions, length, width, and height are 5195mm, 1994mm, and 1905mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2920mm.

In terms of interior, the Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition comes standard with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central control screen, a 12.3-inch front passenger screen, and AR-HUD, supporting multi-screen interaction, and is also equipped with HUAWEI HiCar phone-vehicle connectivity, allowing Huawei phone applications to be transferred to the vehicle system.

In terms of power, the Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition continues to use the DMO plug-in hybrid platform, with a 2.0T engine that can run on 92-octane gasoline, a system combined power of 550kW, a system combined torque of 760N·m, and a zero-to-100 acceleration time of 4.8 seconds. CLTC pure electric range is 200 kilometers, and combined range reaches 1380 kilometers.

The Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition comes standard across the lineup with the Yunian-P Ultra intelligent hydraulic body control system, featuring three-level stiffness adjustment and dual-valve shock absorber damping control, and supporting multiple body height adjustment modes. Each wheel of the system can be independently raised by up to 300 millimeters, single-wheel lifting operation can last more than 24 hours, and it supports control via the vehicle system or a mobile phone.

Xiao Tang's view: The direction of this upgrade for the Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition is basically aimed at the real long-standing shortcomings of rugged SUVs. With a CLTC pure electric range of 200 kilometers, it can basically be used as a pure electric vehicle for urban commuting. Flash charging from 10% to 70% takes only 5 minutes, and performance in low-temperature environments is also relatively stable, a clear improvement over the old model. Yunian-P Ultra is the core upgrade this time. Four-wheel independent lifting, being able to continue driving with a single wheel suspended, and automatically lifting to change a tire after a blowout, these functions provide technical responses to several practical pain points in off-road scenarios. The intelligent driving system is equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 4, with front and rear dual lidar, improving convenience in daily driving. Overall, the Leopard 8 Flash Charging Edition has filled in several shortcomings in the 400,000-yuan-class segment, but how it actually drives will still have to wait for more real owners to speak.
